SORSun Trailer
The first 100% electric, multi-temperature refrigerated semi-trailer powered by the sun — bringing solar-driven cooling to the transport industry.
This breakthrough, the result of close collaboration between leading technology partners, integrates robust solar technology to recharge Thermo King’s EnergE Pack high-voltage battery directly from solar energy. The system delivers clean, reliable cooling power, extends electric autonomy, and minimizes reliance on the power grid or fossil fuels. Durable, weather-resistant panels ensure effective charging under all conditions, prolong battery life, and significantly reduce emissions.
The SORSun Trailer is a clear example of how solar integration can accelerate sustainable logistics and set new benchmarks for zero-emission transport. In addition, SOR’s advanced insulation technology offers improved thermal performance, surpassing standard k-coefficient values — a key advantage for fleets choosing this new development.
The trailer also features an aerodynamic side system designed in compliance with Vecto regulations, which recognize side protection elements as contributors to improved efficiency coefficients. In collaboration with the system’s manufacturer, SOR has implemented a custom aerodynamic solution that helps our customers achieve up to a 5% reduction in CO₂ emissions.
As a highlight, visitors to our outdoor stand will also be able to explore, firsthand, our tractor semi-trailer solution and our Dolly for SOR2 double trailer combinations.
