The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a plan in favor of people, the planet and prosperity.
This Agenda was approved on September 25th, 2015 by the member states of the UN. It has 17 objectives that are divided into 169 goals, which cover economic, social and environmental issues.
Basically, with this agenda it is proposed to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and improve the lives of all people. One of the things we have to do to stop climate change is to pollute less and industrial vehicles, especially those with combustion engines. (diesel) emit greenhouse gases, such as CO2.
For this, much progress has already been made in renewable, alternative energies and other forms of propulsion such as electric axles, etc. Within the 2030 agenda and within the industrial vehicle, will include the effect of trailers and semi-trailers through a final coefficient that comes from the sum of the coefficients for tractor and semi-trailer. In addition, through the cameras installed at the toll booths, the contribution rate based on CO2 will be calculated. The reduction target for semis in 2030 is -15%.
The calculation of the semi-trailer coefficient will come out through the VECTO Trailer tool. For the
calculation they will influence: insulation coefficients, aerodynamics, weight, tires, rolling, among others. However, for the moment, it excludes from the equation elements such as refrigeration equipment, pallet racks, lifting platforms, etc. that directly affect the aerodynamics of the vehicle and, therefore, its coefficient. it is from January 1st to start delivering the first certificates and on July 1st, 2024 it is estimated that the certificate will be mandatory to be able to register the units.
